(Lancaster, PA, September 26, 2021) A three hit afternoon for David Harris helped propel the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs to a much needed 6-2 win over the Lancaster Barnstormers on Sunday. Harris also compiled a RBI and a run to his credit. Crabs starting pitcher Kolton Mahoney stepped up big time, hurling a quality start of allowing two runs over seven innings.
The first three runs of the contest all came from the Southern Maryland offense, and all came in the third inning. Harris picked up his lone RBI with a single that was followed by a two RBI double from Alex Crosby.
Michael Baca got in on the action in the sixth inning with a two RBI double for himself, that started to move the Blue Crabs away from the Barnstormers with a 5-0 score.
After plating home their first run of the game in the bottom half of the sixth, the Barnstormers quickly gave the run back on a solo bomb by Zach Collier. Lancaster scored one more run in the bottom of the seventh, but couldn’t compile together anymore the rest of the way.
With today’s victory, Southern Maryland completes the road trip with a 2-4 record. The team now heads home for another three game set against Lancaster, before hitting the road again this upcoming weekend.
