Garrett Kueber is a 26-year-old infielder from Chatsworth, California. This will be his third season in professional baseball, previously spending time with the United Shore Professional Baseball League; and the Mavericks independent baseball league. This is his first go-around with the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.
Kueber attended Chatsworth Charter High School, in his senior season playing for the Chancellors, he led his squad with a .463 slugging percentage, eight doubles, and scored 29 runs.
Moorpark College was the first college that Kueber attended; he played there for two seasons and had a massive amount of playing time. For his sophomore season in 2016, he was a unanimous All-Western State Conference first-team selection; this selection was easy for the voters after his stat line included a .358 batting average, 21 walks, and ten doubles.
In 2017, Kueber transferred to Austin Peay and was redshirted, so in 2018 he made his debut with the Governors. That season he would become the everyday starting shortstop, appearing in 47 games at the position. Kueber would rank 49th nationally with his .465 on-base percentage and was second on the team in batting average (.340).
Kueber graduated from Austin Peay the next year and started his professional baseball career in the USBL with the Westside Wolly Mammoths. For the 2022 season, he signed with the Salem Senators of the Mavericks Independent Baseball League and was a key contributor to the Senators’ league championship. His batting average was an eye-popping .378, which looked more impressive with his 17 doubles; and 63 runs.
