Jared Burch is a 24-year-old right-handed pitcher from Houston, Texas. The fireball pitcher graduated from Houston Christian University a year ago and only became a full-time pitcher when he transferred to the school as a Sophomore.
As a Huskie, Burch compiled 128.1 innings and punched out 114 hitters in three seasons. The lengthy right-hander headed west to be in the California Winter League and pitched profoundly for the Toronto Rush. The lone-star state native climbed the hill in five games; throughout those appearances, he logged 15 innings, struck out 27 hitters, and only let up six hits, and his ERA was a minuscule 0.93 ERA. In one start, Burch carried a perfect game into the fifth inning before being lifted for his pitch count; he faced 16 batters and sent nine packing on strikes.
