The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs have announced the release of the 2024 promotional schedule. This year’s action-packed schedule contains 12 of the biggest fireworks shows in the area, 9 celebrity and character appearances, and 8 one-of-a-kind giveaway items! With multiple different themes and activities every weekend, there will surely be something to entertain everyone in the family!
The Blue Crabs will open the home schedule on Tuesday, April 30th with a “Countdown to 2024 Celebration” presented by Planet Fitness. It will feel like New Years Eve at Regency Furniture Stadium, with red carpets, music, and people dressed to the nines! Opening weekend will be highlighted by Pinch onto Books Reading Program Night presented by Educational Systems Federal Credit Union on May 17th and a celebration of a Maryland staple, The Preakness Stakes on May 18th!
June will kick off the summer with a bang! Regency Furniture Stadium will get a visit from Maryland Governor Wes Moore on Saturday, June 8th, where the first 500 fans will receive his bobblehead! The following weekend will be one of the biggest of the season, with a summer kickoff party including a performance from Tiki and the Boogie Bros on June 14th, followed by the Charles County Juneteenth Foundation 5th Annual Juneteenth Freedom Day on Saturday, June 15th. The month will end with a Red, White, and Blue Crabs celebration on June 29th, giving a true 4th of July experience. Spectra Credit Union will also be on hand for their “Winning Inning” event, where fans can take their shot in the money grab machine.
The month of July is packed with themes, celebrity appearances, and giveaways! Saturday, July 13th will be DMV Sports Night, highlighted by a few of your favorite DMV athletes and sports figures appearing, and a bobblehead of former MLB pitcher and current Blue Crabs Bench Coach, Mat Latos, for the first 500 fans courtesy of Woody Hoyle State Farm. Celebrate the opening ceremonies on Olympics Night at Regency Furniture Stadium on July 26th, and Military Appreciation Night presented by Charlotte Hall Veterans Home on July 27th .
August will be one to remember with three weekend series on the schedule. Pay homage to the great Jimmy Buffet with Margaritaville Night on August 2nd , with the next day being Halfway to Halloween Night including our fan favorite helicopter candy drop. The Blue Crabs, in partnership with the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, will host their first annual Starry Night on August 10th to bring healing, hope, and support to many local families affected by childhood brain cancer. August will end with Superhero Night on August 24th , starring an appearance from Spiderman and Captain America, and special tickets for all first responders’ courtesy of Trollinger Law LLC.
The 2024 season will wrap up with Cartoon Night featuring Mickey and Bluey on September 6th, Field of Dreams and Games for Grades Night presented by ESFCU on September 7th, and Fan Appreciation Day on September 8th.
As for the weeknights, Silver Slugger Tuesdays presented by Visiting Angels, will include special decade theme nights, starting with the 1920’s, and continuing all the way to the 2010’s. Wednesdays will allow you to bring your pup to Regency Furniture Stadium as part of Bark in the Park brought to you by Forage Dog Barkery. New in 2024 is Wayback Wednesdays, where certain ballpark food staples will represent prices of old! Foster’s Grille is returning to put on Beer and Wings on Thursdays. A “Thirsty Thursday” promotion will be added which includes discounts on several alcoholic beverages.
