The Blue Crabs have several players currently playing in various Winter Leagues as they prepare for 2025 and beyond.

First, Michael Wielansky is following his third season as a Blue Crab, and has taken his talents to Mexico to play Winter league baseball with Jalisco. Wielansky, who was top 10 in the ALPB in batting average with batting .304, and doubles with 24, has carried that success so far to winter ball.

In 52 games, Wielansky is batting .328, with four home runs and has driven in 24. He also has 31 walks, to just 27 strikeouts, and has hit 12 doubles. Wielansky is playing on a team with several former major league players including former Mets and Yankees player Billy Mckinney, former Astros infielder Jack Mayfield, and former Braves pitcher Julio Teheran.

Pitching coach and Crabs pitcher Daryl Thompson is pitching in the Puerto Rican Winter League. The Three-time Pitcher of the Year in the ALPB has gotten off to a nice start. For Mayaguez, Daryl is 3-1, with a 3.54 ERA in six games started. He has tossed 28 innings, has walked just one batter and struck out 17. Thompson led the ALPB in innings pitched in 2024, which he has done several times throughout his Blue Crabs Career.

Lastly, Blue Crabs slugger Anthony Brocato was just signed to the Panama Winter League on December 16th by Federales de Chiriquí. Brocato played 109 games for Southern Maryland, the most of his career. He blasted a career-high 29 home runs, and his last of the season was his 100th of his professional career.
