The Blue Crabs dropped to 5-7 on the young season after a 9-1 loss at the hands of the Rockers, who went to 7-5 after the W.

Shawn Semple (0-2) made the start against the Rockers’ Ryan Weiss (1-1). Semple gave up a run on two hits in the second, as Jake Washer singled home a run after a double earlier in the inning put a runner in scoring position. Then in the third, the Rockers had six straight batters to reach base, including an RBI single from Connor Owings, then a two-run single from Zander Wiel, and later a two run homer by Clayton Mehlbauer put the finishing touches on a game deciding seven run third inning, making it 8-0 HP. The Blue Crabs got scoreless outings out of the bullpen from Cody Thompson (Three Innings, three strikeouts) as well as Trevor McGee (two innings, one hit and three K’s). Alex Merithew gave up one run in the ninth. Blue Crabs scored one run in the sixth after three walks and an error as Aaron Hill walked with the bases loaded. Blue Crabs look to take two out of three tomorrow night at Regency Furniture at 7:05pm.
