(Thursday, July 13th,Waldorf) On Thursday, the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs announced the signing of a former Detroit Tiger and Chicago White Sox reliever, Bruce Rondón.
Rondón is a 32-year-old right-hander from Venezuela. The former Major Leaguer was signed as an international free agent by the Detroit Tigers in 2008 and made his debut in the show in 2013.
Bruce Rondón was on the Tigers from 2013 until 2017; in 2016, he finished the season with a 2.97 ERA. In 2018, he came out of the White Sox bullpen in 25 games. He has spent the past couple of seasons pitching in the Mexican Leagues and will now join the Blue Crabs as they push for a playoff spot in the second half.
