(December 4th, Waldorf) Today the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs announced that right-handed closer, Andre Scrubb, signed a minor league deal with the New York Mets.
Scrubb joined the Blue Crabs in 2023 and finished with a 1.53 earned run average in 26 games. Of those 26, he finished 15, and recorded 8 saves. The North Carolina native spent some time in Mexico, before returning to Southern Maryland to close out the season.
Scrubb was selected in the eighth round of the MLB draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers before being traded to the Houston Astros in 2019. He would make his MLB debut the following season and had a 1.90 ERA in 20 games for the Astros.
