Biography:
Isaac Mattson is a 27-year-old right-handed pitcher from Harbor Creek, Pennsylvania. The fireballer was a product of the University of Pittsburgh; he set down 41 hitters in 31.1 innings, posting a 2.87 ERA his senior year. In the 19th round of the 2017 draft, the Los Angeles Angels selected Mattson.
Mattson was named an organization all-star in 2019 with the Angels; in December of that same year, he and three other pitchers were dealt to the Baltimore Orioles for Dylan Bundy. Mattson took the mound for the first time in an MLB game against the Boston Red Sox a few years later. Last year, the chucker was in the Frontier League with the Washington Wild Things. The Pennsylvania native was also recognized as a 2016 Cape Cod League All-Star in 2016, in 2019 was an all-star in the MLB’s Arizona Fall League.
