(Waldorf, MD) The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs have added some familiar faces to the 2024 roster. Right-handed pitcher Ian Kahaloa and catcher Isaias Quiroz will be coming back for their second seasons.

Ian Kahaloa was the Blue Crabs’ most effective starting pitcher in 2023. Ian led the team in wins, innings pitched, and strikeouts. Kahaloa comes from Ewa Beach, Hawaii and was drafted in the 5th round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Cincinatti Reds. During the 2023 season, Kahaloa reached double digit wins while recording 143 strikeouts in 151.1 innings.

Catcher Isaias Quiroz joined the Blue Crabs a quarter of the way through the 2023 season. Although he missed the first part of the season, Isaias still tied for the team home run crown with 17. Quiroz was drafted in the 20th round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers. Isaias, who took over every day catching duties during the middle parts of last season, hails from Bergenfield, New Jersey.
