Biography:
Alex Crosby is a 29-year-old infielder from Vacaville, California. Crosby’s collegiate career was split between Sonoma State and Solano Community College; in his senior year at Sonoma State, he was elected to the Daktronics all0-west region team after he led his team in batting average (.365), home runs (4), multi-hit games (18), and total bases (93).
The left-handed hitter signed with the Gary-Southshore RailCats right out of college in 2015, joining his cousin who was already on the club, his first six seasons in pro ball were all in the American Association, five with the RailCats and one with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. In the past two seasons, Crosby has combined for 222 games with the Blue Crabs; his career slash line is .296/.352/.437, with 21 home runs and 48 doubles.
The California native was featured on this year’s Great Britain WBC team, where he became the first captain for a Great Britain team that made it to the group stages. Crosby’s sacrifice fly also walked off the European Baseball Championships and got Britain out of the qualifying stage.
